  7. Stanley “George” Newsome Jr went home to be with the Lord on February 17, 2023. George was born in Groves, TX on January 27, 1939, to Stanley and Sybil Newsome. He graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School in 1957 and went on to serve as Petty Officer 3rd Class for the Seabees in the US Navy aboard the USS Tanner.
