Henry Clifford, 1st Earl of Cumberland KG (1493 – 22 April 1542) was a member of the Clifford family which was seated at Skipton Castle, Yorkshire from 1310 to 1676.
7. Feb. 2024 · Henry Clifford, 1st Earl of Cumberland was invested as a Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1509. He had large monastic grants of land in Yorkshire. He held the office of Sheriff of Yorkshire in 1522. He succeeded to the title of 11th Lord Clifford [E., 1299] on 23 April 1523.

Henry Clifford, 10th Baron Clifford KB ( c. 1454 – 23 April 1523) [1] was an English nobleman. His father, John Clifford, 9th Baron Clifford, was killed in the Wars of the Roses fighting for the House of Lancaster when Henry was around five years old.
The hereditary shrievalty went with the title, however, which enabled his father, the 4th earl of Cumberland, to return him for Westmorland in 1614. 20 Clifford played an insignificant role in the brief Parliament, partly because of his youth, but also because he apparently missed the first six weeks of the session.
