Branca begann seine musikalischen Experimente im Boston der frühen 1970er Jahre mit der von ihm gegründeten Theatertruppe Bastard Theater. 1976 zog er nach New York und spielte in verschiedenen No-Wave-Bands wie The Static und Theoretical Girls. 1977 trat er mit Rhys Chatham in dessen Guitar Trio auf.
Glenn Branca (October 6, 1948 – May 13, 2018) was an American avant-garde composer, guitarist, and luthier. Known for his use of volume, alternative guitar tunings, repetition, droning, and the harmonic series, he was a driving force behind the genres of no wave, totalism and noise rock.
Glenn Branca (October 6, 1948, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - d. May 13th, 2018) was an American composer who studied performing arts at Emerson College in Boston. After graduation, he formed two bands - Theoretical Girls in 1977 with Jeffrey Lohn, and later, The Static.
