Robert Gibson (born Pack Robert Gibson; November 9, 1935 – October 2, 2020), nicknamed " Gibby " and " Hoot ", was an American baseball pitcher in Major League Baseball who played his entire career for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1959 to 1975.

Robert Gibson was a Major League Baseball player who pitched for the St. Louis Cardinals ( 1959 - 1975 ). Bob, his nickname, won the 1968 and 1970 National League Cy Young Award — the first St. Louis Cardinals pitcher to win a Cy Young, as well as the first Red Bird to win it twice.
Gibson’s 17 years with the Cardinals netted 251 victories, 3,117 strikeouts, 56 shutouts and an ERA of 2.91. He later served as a pitching coach for the Mets, Braves, and Cardinals. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1981, and the MLB All-Century Team in 1999.
