Zwischen 1967 und 1969 war sie Mitglied der Girl Group Sweet Inspirations, mit der sie Hits wie Let It Be Me, Why? (Am I Treated So Bad), Sweet Inspiration, To Love Somebody, Unchained Melody (1968) und Crying in the Rain (1969) hatte.
The 1967 New York Sessions are comprised of the (much compiled) recordings Van Morrison made for Bang! after his split from Them. Teaming with Brill Building vet producer Bert Berns, Morrison's wild-eyed lyricism is often a tight fit with Berns' straight-ahead commercial sound (see the silly but fun "Chick-a-Boom" for an example).

In 2020, I was commissioned to write the liner notes for Let It Be Me: The Atlantic Recordings (1967-1970), a box set collecting the first recordings of The Sweet Inspirations.
