John Albert Beckman (October 22, 1895, in New York, NY – June 22, 1968, in Miami, Florida) was a professional basketball player. During his 27 years lasting pro career (1914–41) he was known as the " Babe Ruth of basketball".
John Beckman war ein US-amerikanischer Basketballspieler. Zwischen 1913 und 1941 spielte er in diversen Profiteams in verschiedenen Ligen, bekannt ist er aber durch seine Zeit bei den Original Celtics. Am 26. April 1973 wurde er posthum in die Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame aufgenommen.
John Beckman was a star player in various early professional leagues, winning four championships and leading the Pennsylvania State League in scoring in 1920. He was known as the "Babe Ruth of Basketball" and the "Iron Man" for his gritty style and teamwork.
