Carol Christine Hilaria Pounder (born December 25, 1952) is an American actress. She is known for her roles as Mo'at in the Avatar franchise, as Amanda Waller in various DC media, and as Claudette Wyms in the FX police drama series The Shield (2002–2008).
After bit/featured roles in All That Jazz (1979), I'm Dancing as Fast as I Can (1982) and Prizzi's Honor (1985), CCH earned cult status in the art-house film Bagdad Cafe (1987) (aka "Bagdad Café" in the US) as the offbeat owner of a roadside café.
Ms. Pounder’s illustrious career had its origins in theater, including The Mighty Gents with Morgan Freeman, and her Broadway debut Open Admissions. See more theater roles.
