Shirley Ann Pithers (12 June 1935 – 9 March 2017), better known as Jane Freeman, was an English-born Welsh actress who was best known for her work on British television, mostly notably for her role as Ivy in Last of the Summer Wine.
Jane Freeman (1935-2017) was a British actress who appeared in theatre, film and TV, most notably as Ivy in the long-running comedy series Last of the Summer Wine. She also played in A Man for All Seasons, Saved, Blackadder and Silas Marner, among others.

Jane Freeman. Actress. 12 June 1935 to 9 March 2017. A British actress best known for her role as cafe owner Ivy on Last of the Summer Wine (1973-2010), Freeman formed a fierce, bickering double act with John Comer (who portrayed Ivy’s husband, Sid), before he passed away in 1984.
