Émile Allais (25 February 1912 – 17 October 2012) [1] was a champion alpine ski racer from France; he won all three events at the 1937 world championships in Chamonix and the gold in the combined in 1938. Born in Megève, he was a dominant racer in the late 1930s and is considered to have been the first great French alpine skier.

  5. Biografie. Émile Allais left school at 12-years-old to work in his family’s hotel. He entered the French military, completing his military service in 1932 at the 27th Battalion of Chasseurs Alpin in Annecy. Allais was by then a top skiier and won two silver medals (downhill, combined) at the 1935 World Championships in Mürren.
