Joshua Gibson (December 21, 1911 – January 20, 1947) was an American baseball catcher primarily in the Negro leagues. In 1972, he became the second Negro league player to be inducted in the National Baseball Hall of Fame. [1]
Josh Gibson was a catcher, outfielder and first baseman who played for the Homestead Grays in the Negro Leagues. He had a career batting average of .373, 166 home runs and 733 RBIs, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1972.
