  1. Waite Phillips (January 19, 1883 – January 27, 1964) was an American petroleum businessman who created a fully integrated operation that combined petroleum producing, refining and marketing. With headquarters in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he also developed several office complexes and engaged in banking and ranching.

  2. Waite Phillips was a wealthy oil tycoon who gave away half of his earnings and donated land for the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. He and his wife Genevieve also built the Villa Philmonte, a summer home and museum, and gave it to the Boy Scouts in 1941.

  6. The Villa Philmonte was the New Mexico home of Waite and Genevieve Phillips. It was constructed in the Spanish Mediterranean style from 1926 to 1927 and it is 28,400 square feet in size. The Villa Philmonte is a house museum today.
