Founder Walter Day left Twin Galaxies in 2010 to pursue a career in music, and since then ownership of Twin Galaxies has changed hands several times. In 2013, Twin Galaxies began charging a fee for score submissions.
Walter Day is the creator of video game scorekeeping and adjudication service Twin Galaxies, and the supplier of verified scores to Guinness World Records. He is also a musician, historian, and a frequent subject of documentary films about video game culture.
Walter Day is the father of international competitive gaming and the founder of the Twin Galaxies International Scoreboard. He was awarded an honorary ANZAP in 2019 for his contributions to the gaming community.
