Charles Ogle was a businessman and developer in San Francisco and Oakland, California. He disappeared on August 12, 1964, after he took off from Oakland International Airport in his Cessna 210A. He left no flight plan. For decades, his family did not know where he was heading.
17. Jan. 2023 · On August 12, 1964, commercial real estate developer Charles Clifford Ogle, disappeared on a flight between Oakland, CA and Las Vegas, NV in his high-performance Cessna 210A. The weather enroute that fateful day was reported as being "not a factor." Unfortunately, Mr. Ogle did not file a Flight Plan with the FAA.

At 6 pm on August 12, 1964, Charles Ogle took off from Oakland International Airport in his Cessna 210A tail number N9492X. He did not file a flight plan and he did not radio the tower on takeoff. He was never seen or heard from again. It was later learned that his planned flight destination was Reno, Nevada.
In 2007 with the disappearance of Steve Fossett and during the subsequent search approximately eight unidentified plane wrecks were discovered. It was speculated that one of these aircraft could be the Cessna 210A that Charles Ogle was flying, or one of several other aircraft that have disappeared flying over the Sierra Nevada. Only one aircraft was partially identified. With the rest there has been no follow up by the civil authorities. The fate of Charles Ogle remains a mystery.
