Dana August Dimel (born October 9, 1962) is an American football coach and former player. He was most recently the head football coach of the University of Texas at El Paso. Previously he was the co-offensive coordinator and running backs coach at Kansas State University from 2009–2017.

Dana Dimel was named the 26th head coach in UTEP football history by Director of Athletics Jim Senter on Dec. 6, 2017. He enters his sixth season as UTEP head coach and his 12th season overall as a head coach in 2023.

He was 20-49 overall and 10-34 in Conference USA as head coach of the Miners. Dimel was hired ahead of the 2018 season after UTEP went winless the year before.
