Homerton College is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge. Its first premises were acquired in Homerton , London in 1768, by an informal gathering of Protestant dissenters with origins in the seventeenth century.

Homerton is one of the most attractive Colleges in Cambridge, with a mixture of old and new buildings set in spacious wooded grounds away from the city centre. It is also the largest College in terms of student numbers, with a thriving and diverse community.
With over 1,400 students covering all undergraduate and most postgraduate courses, Homerton College is one of the largest, youngest and most diverse Colleges at the University of Cambridge. Students from every background feel a sense of belonging at Homerton.
Homerton College. Homerton is both the largest and the newest College in the University. With a 250-year history, for much of which we were an acclaimed teacher training college, we received our Royal Charter in 2010 and now offer every subject at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

10. Feb. 2009 · Last Friday, 6 February, the University gave approval by Grace to Homerton College to seek a Royal Charter. It is hoped that by the end of the year, the University’s 800th anniversary, this process will be completed to make Homerton a full college of the University.
17. März 2010 · Homerton College has officially become the University of Cambridge’s newest self-governing full College. Homerton College has its origins in Homerton in east London, dating back to the late 17th century.
