Mauro Bolognini (1922-2001) was an Italian director and writer, known for his adaptations of works by Alberto Moravia and Pier Paolo Pasolini. He worked as an assistant to Luigi Zampa and other neo-realist directors, and directed films such as Madamigella di Maupin, Mosca addio and Careless.
