Love Exists ( French: L'amour existe) is a short documentary essay on the Parisian suburbs made in 1960, written and directed by Maurice Pialat and produced by Pierre Braunberger .
This clinical dissection of Parisian socio-cultural life morphs into a political and philosophical treatise without ever seeming so. As the title suggests, love does exist, but it's been buried under the rubble of rapid modernization and its residual effects. A beautiful, unforgettable short.
