Billy Bonney and his friends Fuzzy Jones and Jeff Travis, driving a cattle herd and friends of the Bennetts, engage in a gun battle with the killers that frightens the stage horses. Billy gives chase and rescues Judge Fitzgerald and his daughter Molly.
Upon learning that the Bennetts are planning to request federal protection, Morgan orders the brothers murdered in cold blood. Shortly after, Billy the Kid, on a cattle drive with his friends, Jeff Travis and Fuzzy Jones, decides to stop and visit his old friends the Bennetts.
