The Valiant Red Peony (Japanese: 緋牡丹博徒, Hepburn: Hibotan Bakuto) is a 1968 Japanese yakuza film directed by Kōsaku Yamashita. It stars Junko Fuji. She landed the lead role for the first time in the film and The Valiant Red Peony was a big hit.

Red Peony Oryu who has a red peony tattooed on her shoulder and has the defiance and courage of a man. She meets Katagiri - a loner gambler, Kumatora - boss of a family in Shikoku, and Otaka - female boss of the Doman Family in Osaka. With their help, she finally catches up with the man who murdered her father.
Set during the Meiji era, Red Peony Gambler stars Fuji as Ryuko Yano, the daughter of a gambler. When her father is murdered, Ryuko takes on a new name derived from the crimson flower tattooed on her shoulder – “Oryu, the Red Peony” – and sets out for revenge.
RED PEONY GAMBLER is a classic ninkyo eiga set in the Mid-Meiji period and features a fearless, enchanting Fuji Sumiko and a strait-laced, at times heroic Takakura Ken. Fuji is a lone wanderer, a female yakuza looking to avenge her father’s death.
