15. Juni 2016 · An interface modification method has been adopted to remove such dead layer effects. Our results show that a LaXO 3 (X = Fe, Co) or YNiO 3 (Y = Sr, Ba) buffer layer can effectively remove the dead layer effect in BaTiO 3 film.

In this paper, the dead layer existed in surface-induced relaxation Pt/BTO interfaces, and the relaxation layer present at this interface had different properties from bulk BTO. The dead layer is also formed by chemical intermixing between the electrode and the ferroelectric film.
23. Dez. 2020 · In this study, we investigate the effects of various electrodes on the ferroelectric properties of ultrathin HfZrO x (HZO) films. The ferroelectric polarization is totally suppressed in the HZO films with TiN and W bottom electrodes when the film thickness is below 5 nm.
