The Last Egyptian: A Romance of the Nile is a novel written by L. Frank Baum, famous as the creator of the Land of Oz. The book was published anonymously on May 1, 1908 [1] by Edward Stern & Co. of Philadelphia, with eight color plate illustrations by Francis P. Wightman.
Plot. Pharaoh Khufu, all-powerful ruler of ancient Egypt, amasses a great treasure, including by conquering other lands. He wants to be entombed with it when he dies (so he can enjoy it in the "second life"), free from the threat of grave robbers.

The Last Egyptian is the movie adaptation of L. Frank Baum's 1908 novel of the same name. The film was completed late in 1914 and exhibited for audiences in December of that year.
Egypt's first cinema opened its doors in Alexandria in 1897. A limited number of silent films were made starting from that date, starting with the first Egyptian film released on 20 June 1907, a short documentary film about the visit of Khedive Abbas II to the Institute of Mursi Abul-Abbas in Alexandria.
