Ganja White Night is a pioneering live electronic duo that has been crafting their distinct musical journey since 2008. Rooted in a love for homemade and organic dubstep-infused compositions, they've embarked on a sonic exploration that revolves around a captivating interplay between powerful bass and enchanting melodic motifs.
Originally delving into various electronic genres like Hip Hop, Breaks, and Drum&Bass, the duo found themselves deeply drawn to the burgeoning musical movement of dubstep. Rather than conforming to genre clichés, they dedicated themselves to carving a unique path within the genre, focusing on intricate "Bass Wobbling" while shying away from conventions.
Their live performances mirror this dedication to uniqueness, as they meticulously craft live arrangements that merge machines, laptops, midi master keyboards, a diverse array of regulators, samplers, sequencers, processing effects, and even iPads. This innovative approach allows them to showcase their creativity and efficiency on stage. While embracing this live element, they've also honed their DJ skills, making them adaptable to a wide range of scenes and audiences around the world.
Both members of Ganja White Night are self-taught musicians, and their musical evolution was significantly shaped by their studies in electro-acoustic music and sound design under the guidance of Annette Vande Gorne at Le Conservatoire Royal of Mons (Belgium). This unique background lent a distinctive touch to their compositions, resulting in an unmatched sonic experience.
Their debut album, digitally released in February 2010, represents a compilation of their previous LPs along with exclusive new tracks. The duo has independently released all their recordings on their own label, Subcarbon Records. Their music has found its way into various online stores worldwide, including iTunes, Amazon, Juno Download, Napster, and Rhapsody. Notably, the tracks "Peace By Fear" and "Blueberry" have emerged as their best-selling creations.
Having been an integral part of the Belgian artist agency "ThemApples," Ganja White Night has shared a stage with esteemed artists like Aphrodite, Eptic, Dubba Jonny, and more. Their journey continued with their 2013 album "Mystic Herbalist," marking their first full-length release as a duo. This album, crafted in their new studio, was a return to the very essence that ignited their passion for producing Dubstep music. Collaborating with Monsta for the album's design, they created an immersive universe that encapsulates their artistic vision.
