Frank Porretta erhielt seinen Bachelor of Music an der Julliard School of Music und begann seine Karriere als lyrischer Tenor im Glimmerglass Young Artists Programme. Schwerere Partien sang er erstmals an der Eugene Opera (Radames in Aida) und Virginia Opera (Titelpartie in Andrea Chenier).
FRANK PORRETTA (Calaf) is rapidly gaining international recognition as an important new spinto tenor. In the fall of 2002 Porretta made his European debut singing the title role in Verdi's Otello in Seville.
