Richard Alan Beirach was born on 23 May 1947 in Brooklyn, New York City and started playing the piano at the age of 5. From age 6 to age 18, Richie was given lessons by the pianist and composer James Palmieri. “James Palmieri showed me everything that I know about the piano,…he made me understand the deeper meaning of music.”.
In 1972, Beirach began working with Stan Getz. He also worked with Chet Baker. Beirach has maintained an ongoing musical partnership with David Liebman from the late-1960s to the present in the groups Lookout Farm and Quest. Der US-amerikanische Jazzpianist Richard Alan Beirach lernte Klavier sowie Komposition bei James Palmieri.
