Clarence Saxby Chambliss (/ ˈ s æ k s b i ˈ tʃ æ m b l ɪ s /; born November 10, 1943) is an American lawyer and retired politician who was a United States Senator from Georgia from 2003 to 2015. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served as a U.S. Representative from 1995 to 2003.

31. Dez. 2020 · ATLANTA (AP) — Former U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss is recovering from a minor stroke, his spokeswoman said Thursday. Chambliss, 77, was admitted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta and is being treated at its Marcus Stroke and Neuroscience Center, spokeswoman Lauren Claffey Tomlinson said.
Saxby Chambliss devoted 20 years to public service in the U.S. Congress. He served on both the House and Senate agriculture committees and took a leadership role in matters involving derivatives policy and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
