Admiral Charles Philip Yorke, 4th Earl of Hardwicke, PC (2 April 1799 – 17 September 1873) was a British naval commander and Conservative politician. Background. Born at Sydney Lodge, in Hamble le Rice, Hardwicke was the eldest son of Admiral Sir Joseph Sydney Yorke, second son of Charles Yorke, Lord Chancellor, by his second wife, Agneta Johnson.

Er vertrat das College of Reigate (1831–1832) und Cambridgeshire (1832–1834) im House of Commons. 1834, nach dem Tod seines Onkels, wurde er der vierte Earl of Hardwicke. Er war Mitglied des Kabinetts von Lord Derby als Postmaster General und als Lord of the Private Seal (1858-1859). 1852 wurde er Mitglied des Privatrates [1] .

Earl of Hardwicke, aus dessen Ehe mit Margaret Cocks. Er studierte ab 1739 am Corpus Christ College der Universität Cambridge. [2] .
Charles Philip Yorke, Fourth Earl of Hardwicke, Vice−Admiral R.N. 1 life, so varied in the many different positions he was called upon to fill, and the considerable part he played in the affairs of his time, deserve a fuller record than the accounts to be found in biographical works of reference.
