Abel Parker Upshur (June 17, 1790 – February 28, 1844) was an American lawyer, planter, judge, and politician from the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
Upshur served as Secretary of State from July 1843 to February 1844, when he died in a naval accident. He pursued the annexation of Texas and the Oregon Treaty with Britain.
