I am grateful to have the opportunity to speak with you today. Thank you for considering my nomination to serve as Ambassador to Turkmenistan. I would like to start by thanking Senator Casey for the honor of his introduction, as well as the family, friends, and colleagues who have supported me.
5. Juni 2024 · Rood's candidacy for the post of head of the diplomatic mission in Ashgabat was nominated by President Joe Biden in August 2022 when forming new appointments in the administration. Elizabeth Rood is an experienced career diplomat with the rank of Minister Counsellor.
