Lord Noel-Baker was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1959 for his lifelong dedication to the cause of disarmament and international peace, and in particular for his book The Arms Race . He was the first Sir Ernest Cassel Professor of International Relations at LSE in 1924 and one of the first professors in this subject anywhere in the world.
