Emidio "Mimi" Soltysik (/ ˌ s ɒ l ˈ t ɪ s ɪ k / soll-TISS-ik; October 30, 1974 – June 28, 2020) was an American socialist political activist for the Socialist Party USA. He was the party's nominee for President of the United States in the 2016 election alongside Angela Nicole Walker, who was the party's vice-presidential nominee.
We mourn the death of Mimi Soltysik (1974-2020), cut down by cancer in the prime of life. Mimi worked tirelessly in the peace and social justice movements of the Los Angeles area. A leading figure in the Socialist Party USA, he also devoted his considerable energies to the Stop LAPD Spying Coalition.
