Augusto Santos Silva nasceu no Porto, a 20 de agosto de 1956. É Presidente da Assembleia da República desde 29 de março de 2022. É casado, pai de três filhos e avô de cinco netos. Doutorou-se em Sociologia pelo ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (1992).
Augusto Santos Silva has been President of the Portuguese Republic Assembly since 29 March 2022. He holds a PhD in Sociology from ISCTE - University Institute of Lisbon (1992). He is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto.
