Alexandros Soutsos (Greek: Ἀλέξανδρος Σοῦτσος) (1803–1863) was a Greek poet from a prominent Phanariote family. He founded the Greek Romantic school of poetry . Soutsos was born in Istanbul in 1803 from Chian parentage.
Im Jahre 1896 vermachte Alexandros Soutzos, ein Jurist und Kunstliebhaber, seine Sammlung und seinen Nachlass der griechischen Regierung, die ein Kunstmuseum errichten wollte. Das Museum wurde 1900 eröffnet und der erste Kurator war der berühmte griechische Maler Georgios Jakobides aus München.
