Ludovico Sforza, (born July 27, 1452, Vigevano, Pavia, duchy of Milan—died May 27, 1508, Loches, Toubrenne, France), Regent (1480–94) and duke of Milan (1494–98). The second son of Francesco Sforza, he was known as “the Moor” because of his dark complexion and black hair.
Per giunta, il 27 luglio 1479, a Varese Ligure, morì Sforza Maria, da tempo malato. Il 14 agosto Ferdinando I concesse a L. il Ducato di Bari, di cui il fratello defunto era stato titolare, sicché egli acquisì Bari, Palo, Modugno con i relativi diritti e redditi, in particolare quelli della dogana del sale e dei fuochi.
