Peter Clive Sarnak FRS MAE (born 18 December 1953) is a South African-born mathematician with dual South-African and American nationalities. Sarnak has been a member of the permanent faculty of the School of Mathematics at the Institute for Advanced Study since 2007.
Peter Sarnak is a professor of number theory and analysis at Princeton University and a former member of the IAS. He has won several prestigious awards, including the Wolf Prize in Mathematics and the Sylvester Medal, and has made significant contributions to zeta functions, automorphic forms, and combinatorics.
