Rudolf Emil Kálmán (ungarisch Kálmán Rudolf Emil; * 19. Mai 1930 in Budapest; † 2. Juli 2016 in Gainesville, Florida) war ein US-amerikanischer Elektroingenieur und Mathematiker ungarischer Herkunft. Er entwickelte 1960 das nach ihm benannte Kalman-Filter.
Rudolf Emil Kálmán (May 19, 1930 – July 2, 2016) was a Hungarian-American electrical engineer, mathematician, and inventor. He is most noted for his co-invention and development of the Kalman filter, a mathematical algorithm that is widely used in signal processing, control systems, and guidance, navigation and control.

Rudolf Emil Kalman was born in Budapest, Hungary, on May 19, 1930. He passed away in Gainseville, Florida (USA) on July 2, 2016. He received the bachelor's degree (S.B.) and the master's degree (S.M.) in electrical engineering, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1953 and 1954 respectively.
