is an upcoming television series produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and written and directed by Stella Meghie. The series is a sequel of the 2009 animated Disney film The Princess and the Frog, set to premiere on Disney+ in 2024.
In the series, Tiana sets off for a grand new adventure as the newly crowned Princess of Maldonia, but a calling to her New Orleans past isn’t far behind.
On October 9, 2023, Variety reported that Joyce Sherri would serve as the showrunner and as a director for the series.
•This show was originally to be produced in 2023.
•The show will air in the same year as the launch of the attraction Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
•It will be the twenty-fourth television series to be based on a Disney animated feature, after Welcome to Pooh Corner, Dumbo's Circus, The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, TaleSpin, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Sing Me a Story with Belle, Timon & Pumbaa, Jungle Cubs, 101 Dalmatians: The Series, Hercules, The Legend of Tarzan, The Book of Pooh, Lilo & Stitch: The Series, My Friends Tigger & Pooh, The Emperor's New School, Jake and the Never Land Pirates, The 7D, The Lion Guard, Tangled: The Series, Big Hero 6: The Series, and 101 Dalmatian Street.
•This will also be the fifth television series to be based on a movie featuring a Disney Princess, and the first to be produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios itself. The others were The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Sing Me a Story with Belle, and Tangled.
•With this series, Tiana will be the first Princess to both have a film and TV series produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios.
•Stella Meghie became the series' showrunner and director after unsuccessfully trying to pitch an idea for a live-action adaptation of The Princess and the Frog. Jennifer Lee was impressed with her determination that she was offered work on the show instead.
