The Armando Iannucci Shows is a series of eight programmes directed by Armando Iannucci and written by Iannucci with Andy Riley and Kevin Cecil. It was shown on UK's Channel 4 from 30 August to 18 October 2001.
Armando Giovanni Iannucci OBE (* 28. November 1963 in Glasgow) ist ein britischer Komiker, Regisseur und Film- und Fernsehproduzent. Bekannt wurde er vor allem durch mehrere TV-Produktionen mit dem fiktiven Moderator Alan Partridge sowie als Erfinder der politischen Satire The Thick of It .
Overview. The Armando Iannucci Shows is a series of eight programmes focused on specific themes relating to human nature and existentialism, around which Iannucci would weave a series of surreal sketches and monologues.
Iannucci also fronted the satirical Armistice review shows and in 2001 created his most personal work, The Armando Iannucci Shows, for Channel 4. Moving back to the BBC in 2005, Iannucci created the political sitcom The Thick of It and the spoof documentary Time Trumpet in 2006.
