Baldassare Longhena (born 1598, Venice [Italy]—died 1682, Venice) was a major Venetian architect of the 17th century. Longhena was a pupil of Vincenzo Scamozzi and completed Scamozzi’s Procuratie Nuove (1584–1640) in the Piazza San Marco in Venice.
