4. Dez. 2023 · Georgiana Burne-Jones, as an employee, painted tiles for a short period before the birth of her son forced her to resign. Burne-Jones had an artistic vein, though it remained undeveloped due to constraints imposed on her by the conservative Victorian society , but also by her own family.
Georgiana and her sister Agnes received attention from prospective suitors including members of the Birmingham Set, a loose group of visual artists and writers of which her brother was a member. She married the Pre-Raphaelite painter Edward Burne-Jones, a member of the Set, during 1859.
