Henri-Joseph Harpignies. (b Valenciennes, 24 July 1819; d St-Privé, Yonne, 28 Aug. 1916). French landscape painter (and occasional printmaker). He did not take up painting seriously until 1846, but he was then very prolific and won considerable success and fame.
