Johnny Speight (* 2. Juni 1920 in Canning Town, Greater London, England; † 5. Juli 1998 in Chorleywood, Hertfordshire, England) war ein britischer Fernsehdrehbuchautor vieler klassischer britischer Sitcoms. Johnny Speight (2 June 1920 – 5 July 1998) was an English television scriptwriter of many classic British sitcoms. Speight emerged in the mid-1950s, writing for radio comics Frankie Howerd, Vic Oliver, Arthur Askey, and Cyril Fletcher. For television he wrote for Morecambe & Wise, Peter Sellers and The Arthur Haynes Show.
Created by Johnny Speight, Till Death Us Do Part centred on the East End Garnett family, led by patriarch Alf Garnett ( Warren Mitchell ), a reactionary white working-class man who holds racist and anti- socialist views. His long-suffering wife Else was played by Dandy Nichols, and his daughter Rita by Una Stubbs.
