Boris Souvarine (* 1895 in Kiew; † 1. November 1984 in Paris; eigentlich Boris Konstantinowitsch Lifschiz, russisch Борис Константинович Лифшиц) war ein französischer politischer Aktivist und Schriftsteller russisch-jüdischer Herkunft.
Boris Souvarine (1 November 1895 – 1 November 1984), also known as Varine, was a French Marxist, communist activist, essayist and journalist.
Whereas they feared the threat to Soviet achievements posed by the New Economic Policy (NEP), pursued since 1921, which seemed to be steering the Soviet Union in a capitalist direction, Souvarine warned of the dangers of bureaucratization and authoritarian rule.

Als Anhänger der Kommunistischen Internationale (Komintern) war er eine der trei-benden Kräfte zur Gründung der Kommunistischen Partei Frankreichs (PCF) im Jahre 1920, in deren Vorstand er 1921 gewählt wurde. Seine Artikel zeichnete er nun mit „Varine”.

Souvarine was a a communist activist, journalist and historian.
