Biographical. T he Danish pacifist, Fredrik Bajer (April 21, 1837-January 22, 1922), was born in Vester Egede, near Naestved, Denmark. The son of a clergyman named Alfred Beyer, he adopted the altered spelling of his surname in 1865. Bajer entered the Sorø Academy in 1848 and six years later a military school.
Fredrik Bajer (født 21. april 1837 i Vester Egede ved Næstved, død 22. januar 1922 i København) var en dansk officer, forfatter, lærer og pacifistisk politiker, der sammen med svenskeren Klas Pontus Arnoldson modtog Nobels Fredspris i 1908.
Fredrik Bajer was a Danish officer turned peace activist who campaigned for Nordic neutrality, women's rights and international cooperation. He co-founded the Peace Society of Denmark and the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and translated Kant's Perpetual Peace.

Apr. 2024 · Fredrik Bajer (born April 21, 1837, Denmark—died Jan. 22, 1922, Copenhagen, Den.) was a Danish reformer and politician, who was a co-winner (with Klas Pontus Arnoldson) of the Nobel Prize for Peace in 1908. Bajer entered the Danish army but was discharged when it was reduced after the 1864 war with Prussia.
