Ormiston Academies Trust. Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) is a charity and incorporated company which operates schools with academy status. Secondary schools. In total, there are 32 secondary schools operated by Ormiston Academies Trust. 8 in the North, 10 in the East, 5 in the South and 9 in the West.
Who we are. We are a national education charity, underpinned by our founder, Peter Murray’s ( Ormiston Trust) belief that every child should be given a chance to thrive. We serve pupils from many communities, all with their unique character, strengths, and challenges. Our sole purpose is:

But none have the unique history of our organisation, Ormiston Academies Trust, which this year celebrates its 15th anniversary. In my first year as chief executive, it is humbling to look back at the origin story of Ormiston.
OAT currently sponsors 42 academies nationwide, comprising 32 secondary schools, six primary schools, three alternative provision schools and one special school. Our academies are listed below alphabetically, omitting the word “Ormiston”. You can download a PDF version of our network map here.
