Il est surtout connu pour avoir cosigné la réalisation du long métrage Moi, moche et méchant et de ses suites. C'est également lui la voix originale des Minions dans les différentes productions de cette franchise.
Pierre Coffin is a director, writer, producer, and actor who co-directed the Despicable Me films and voiced the Minions. He was born in France to a diplomat father and an Indonesian mother, and moved a lot across Asia as a child.

The first feature film from Illumination, it was directed by Chris Renaud and Pierre Coffin (in their feature directorial debuts) and produced by Chris Meledandri, Janet Healy, and John Cohen, from a screenplay by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, and a story by Sergio Pablos.
