Durrington is a village and parish in the Amesbury Hundred of Wiltshire. The village lies about two miles north Amesbury itself, 10 miles north-north-east of the city of Salisbury , and 2½ miles north-east of the Stonehenge monument.
Durrington Walls, the largest known Neolithic henge in the United Kingdom. Overlooking the River Avon near Amesbury, Wiltshire, the henge is approximately 1.9 miles (3 km) northeast of Stonehenge (3000 to 1520 bce) and about 76 yards (about 70 metres) north of Woodhenge (2500 to 2200 bce ).
This circular walk explores three major prehistoric monuments, Durrington Walls, the Stonehenge Avenue and the Cursus, all at the heart of this World Heritage Site. Along the way, take in inspiring views across the beautiful Wiltshire landscape, and look out for wildlife including hares, deer, birds and butterflies.
