Our students develop intellectually and ethically while engaging with the curriculum through hands-on experience. SCCJ offers a bachelor of science, unique combined majors, and the ability to minor for those whose interests extend beyond the components of the criminal justice system.
SCCJ is action-oriented. We confront challenges like opioid abuse, human trafficking, internet fraud, and racial profiling with strategies fueled by multidisciplinary collaboration and groundbreaking research. To get involved, students can pursue a master’s degree, doctoral degree, or unique combined degrees with Northeastern’s School of Law.
We are home to several research centers and initiatives that are engaged in shaping criminal justice policies and programs at all levels of government. Students in all of our degree programs have the chance to interact closely with the faculty, collaborating on research and scholarship that improves practice and advances justice.
SCCJ promises exciting and challenging real-world experiences to enrich classroom learning and provide students with a competitive advantage upon graduation, whether it be through co-op, service learning, or directed studies.
During the summer of 2020, SCCJ and our associated research institutes began working to reaffirm our commitment to anti-racism and more purposefully address issues of racial justice throughout our unit.
