Amon Giles Carter Sr. (born Giles Amon Carter; December 11, 1879 – June 23, 1955) was the creator and publisher of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, and a nationally known civic booster for Fort Worth, Texas.
The Horned Frogs play their home games in Amon G. Carter Stadium, which is located on the TCU campus in Fort Worth. TCU began playing football in 1896 and has been a member of the Big 12 Conference since 2012.

16. Nov. 2010 · Amon G. Carter Stadium opened on Oct. 11, 1930 with a 40-0 win over Arkansas in front of a then-capacity crowd of 22,000 fans. The stadium closed with another capacity crowd, this time of 45,694, who watched the Frogs beat San Diego State 40-35.
