Bashar Shbib (born June 25, 1959) is a Canadian independent film director and producer. He started making independent films in Montreal the 1980s and became one of the most prolific independent filmmakers in Canada with over 30 films to his credit.
Bashar Shbib (né à Damas, en Syrie, le 25 juin 1959) est un réalisateur, producteur et scénariste. Il est considéré comme « le plus prolifique, sans contredit, des cinéastes canadiens » 1, 2 avec une vingtaine de longs métrages à son actif 3 . Né en Syrie, sa famille s'installe au Québec en 1967.
