Christopher James Harley, known by the stage name Chris Rainbow (18 November 1946 – 22 February 2015), was a Scottish pop rock singer and musician whose songs "Give Me What I Cry For" and "Solid State Brain" were often played by British radio DJs Kenny Everett and Tony Blackburn in the 1970s.
Chris Rainbow was a pseudonym used by Chris Harley (born 18 November 1946, Glasgow, Scotland – died 22 or 26 February 2015, Isle Of Skye, Scotland) who was a Scottish rock singer, songwriter, vocal arranger and producer.
26. Feb. 2015 · Scottish vocalist and musician Chris Rainbow, who worked with Alan Parsons and Camel, has died at the age of 68. He appeared on seven Alan Parsons Project albums between 1979 and 1987 – Eve , The Turn Of A Friendly Card , Eye In The Sky , Ammonia Avenue, Vulture Culture , Stereotomy and Gaudi .
Eve is the Alan Parsons Project's first album with singer Chris Rainbow. The album's opening instrumental "Lucifer" was a major hit in Europe, and "Damned If I Do" reached the US Top 40, peaking at No. 27, and reaching No. 16 in Canada. "Lucifer" also is used as title track for the German political TV show Monitor.
